About Angiza:

Angiza is dedicated to empowering and educating children in war-affected regions, with a specific focus on Afghanistan. Our mission is to enhance children's creative skills through captivating stories, artwork, and educational content. We prioritize areas with limited access to books and education, paying special attention to girls above the sixth grade who have been without school access under Taliban rule. Our initiative targets children aged 7 to 14, delivering stories, art projects, and educational materials to foster their imagination, creativity, and communication skills.

Position Overview:

The Social Media and Marketing Officer will play a crucial role in writing, editing, and media outreach activities to enhance Angiza's reach, particularly among donors and other interested parties. This position will highlight the work of Angiza and strengthen the organization’s brand across external audiences. Reporting to the CEO, the role requires close collaboration with the graphic designer and translators to refine and expand our branding and outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide editorial support for external communications efforts to craft and distribute timely information about the organisation’s achievements, initiatives and priorities;
  • Knowledge of data protection rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in public outreach and awareness initiatives, including social media activities (Instagram, Linkedin etc.), distributing information on the organisation’s mission and achievements, pitching success stories.
  • Develop content for the organization’s websites, blogs, and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with the administrative officer in the production of internal templates.
  • Assist with executive communications efforts, including the creation of presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in related area. Comparable blend of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • A solid grasp of the media environment and editorial procedures.
  • Excellent writing ability and an understanding of the methods used in content creation and distribution.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks under deadlines.
  • Solid computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the organisation’s priorities and goals;
  • Ability to work successfully and effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written. Farsi language skills are a plus.
