About Angiza

Angiza is a dedicated organization committed to empowering and educating children in war-affected regions, with a specific focus on Afghanistan. Our mission is to enhance children's creative skills through captivating stories, artwork, and educational content. We prioritize areas with limited access to books and education, paying special attention to girls above the sixth grade who have been without school access under Taliban rule. Our initiative targets children aged 7 to 14, delivering stories, art projects, and educational materials to foster their imagination, creativity, and communication skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Project Manager to lead and oversee the implementation of our educational projects in Afghanistan and the UK. The ideal candidate will have a passion for children's education and international development, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, executed, and oversee all aspects of the Angiza project, including the development and distribution of educational materials, stories, and art projects.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Principles and how to effectively implement them.
  • Coordinate with local partners, educators, and community leaders to ensure the successful delivery of our programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring efficient use of funds and timely completion of project milestones.
  • Prepare detailed project reports and present findings to stakeholders and funders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders to support project sustainability and growth.
  • Lead and mentor project team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during project implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Committed to manging prpjects, particularly in education or development projects in conflict or post-conflict settings.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of the socio-political context of Afghanistan and experience working in similar environments is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Dari, Pashto) is an asset.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Angiza, including promoting peace, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

 

What we offer

This position is currently a volunteer role. However, with demonstrated interest and commitment, it has the potential to transition into a permanent paid position once funding is secured.
