About Angiza:

Angiza is dedicated to empowering and educating children in war-affected regions, with a specific focus on Afghanistan. Our mission is to enhance children's creative skills through captivating stories, artwork, and educational content. We prioritize areas with limited access to books and education, paying special attention to girls above the sixth grade who have been without school access under Taliban rule. Our initiative targets children aged 7 to 14, delivering stories, art projects, and educational materials to foster their imagination, creativity, and communication skills.

Position Overview:

The Graphics Designer will play a vital role in delivering high-quality and innovative designs and artwork for Angiza’s children's magazine. This position is essential to the magazine's success and to expanding the organization's reach. The designer will also develop concepts and execute various campaigns related to print, social, and electronic media to facilitate effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, improve and edit artwork, photos, charts, videos, and other graphic elements for the children’s magazine and website.
  • Create different illustrative materials such as presentations and design of different Angiza branding materials.
  • Work with the social media and marketing officer to build a robust social media presence through innovative concepts and engaging content.
  • To design and develop print, electronic, and social media (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) campaign materials and presenting finalized ideas and concepts for the children’s magazine.
  • Design and layout information and communication materials, including t-shirts, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, newsletters, bulletins, flyers, and brochures.
  • Efficiently prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

 

  • Qualifications:
  • Work-related experience in graphic design with proven knowledge of graphic layout and design across multiple media channels.
  • University degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in Design, Branding or another related field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of one or more standard design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canava, Premiere, Pro, WordPress etc.).
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Angiza.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to work well under pressure, completing tasks, and handling tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of graphic production from start to published or printed product with familiarity of printing processes and colour management.
